Three months after I was forced to rapid taper thanks to the help of one of the best psychiatric hospitals in the country,
I started bleeding in my abdomen.
Benzo belly is real.
I still have weird bloating, my abdomen gets distended, my digestive system isn’t the same and I put on weight.
The blood started pooling around my umbilical cord. So I saw my doc. He ruled everything else out and correctly thought I had a little rip somewhere in my abdomeen.
Then, I got sick and coughed.
It felt like I got shot!
Something today reminded me of that pain and trauma. So I asked ChatGPT if there was any weight to my thought, rabid detox from long term Benzo use probably did this to me too.

I went to the dentist today, as I have every 6 months for as long as I can remember. It was the worst visit I’ve had since the first time a doctor cut me off cold turkey from benzodiazepine, taken as prescribed. I asked my ai Helper of others have experienced similar problems. I had three nasty cavities and bone loss.Ive had Benzo belly for the better part of the last 15 months or so. It would make sense that between that and dry mouth my teeth are rotting.
It’s all anecdotal, but we aren’t making this up, and facts are just coincidences that are studied and proven.
